What is WIST (Wireless Sync-Start Technology)?

WIST allows for wireless sync-start between compatible apps on nearby iPads. You can now sync with your friend’s iPad to create a dynamic live performance using two Korg iPad apps. You can sync two iELECTRIBEs, two iMS-20s, or you can even combine iELECTRIBE and iMS-20.

Read first

  • The iPad that controls play/stop is called MASTER. The other iPad that is controlled by MASTER is called SLAVE.
  • Tempo value in MASTER is automatically set up to SLAVE at play start.
  • Bluetooth is required. No Wi-Fi is required.

How to use

  1. Tap "GLOBAL" and tap “WIST On” from the menu on each of the two iPads.
  2. If Bluetooth is disabled in the settings of your iPad, tap OK to enable it.

  3. The iPads will now try to detect each other. This may occasionally take a little time to detect due to network conditions. If you cannot move to the next step, tap Cancel and try again from the beginning.

  4. Detected iPads will be shown in the list. To set up MASTER/SLAVE, choose an iPad you want to use as MASTER from the list of an iPad you want to use as SLAVE. A request will be sent from SLAVE to MASTER.

  6. To start simultaneous playback on both iPads, tap the play button on the MASTER iPad. Due to network conditions, the start timing may occasionally mismatch. If this occurs, stop the performance once and play again.
  7. To disable WIST, tap GLOBAL and tap WIST Off from the menu.
