Synth parameters

OSCILLATOR

These parameters control the oscillator's waveform and pitch.

This selects the waveform that is the basis of the sound: sine wave, triangle wave, pulse wave, or sawtooth wave. For PCM synth parts, you can choose from four variation waveforms of each instrument. The CLAP/SNARE part provides two clap waveforms and two snare waveforms.


WAVE

This adjusts the pitch of the sound.


PITCH

This selects the waveform used for pitch modulation.


MOD TYPE

This specifies the depth and direction of pitch modulation. Positive (right) and negative (left) settings will invert the pitch modulation effect.


MOD DEPTH

This adjusts the speed of pitch modulation.


MOD SPEED

AMP

These parameters control the volume and panning.

This adjusts the time until the sound decays to silence.


DECAY

This specifies the stereo location of the sound.


PAN

This adjusts the volume. For accent mode, this adjusts the accent level (the amount of volume that is emphasized when the accent is on).
Adding accents to the pattern


LEVEL

This boosts the low-frequencies. By setting this to the maximum you can also use it as a distortion effect.


LOW BOOST

By using the audio generated by SYNTH2 to apply high-speed modulation to the frequency (pitch) of the SYNTH1 oscillator, you can create sounds that have a complex overtone structure. To edit the cross modulation sound, you must first create a rhythm pattern for SYNTH1 and SYNTH2, and edit the sound while the pattern plays back.


Combinations other than SYNTH1 and SYNTH2 cannot be used. In some cases, the timing of when SYNTH1 and SYNTH2 sound may affect the tonal character or the volume.
