What is a pattern?

A pattern is a unit of musical data consisting of sounds arranged in a rhythm. On the iELECTRIBE you can create and save 160 patterns. Each pattern consists of eight parts (What is a Part?).

What is a part?

A part consists of the timing of when sounds are produced (i.e., a rhythm pattern), and a motion sequence. Parts are the smallest unit of data that create a pattern. The following are types of parts, (eight in total).

  • Percussion Synthesizer parts (1--4): A synthesizer sound and a rhythm pattern.
  • Hi-hat parts (CLOSE, OPEN): Hi-hat sounds and a rhythm pattern.
  • Crash Cymbal part: Cymbal sounds and a rhythm pattern.
  • Handclap/Snare part: Handclap/Snare sounds and a rhythm pattern.

You are free to modify the sound of each part. Rhythm patterns and motion sequences can be stored independently for each part. (Edit the sound of each part)

A step is the minimum unit of rhythm pattern structure, the length of one step is sixteenth note.

What is a rhythm pattern?

A rhythm pattern is a sequence of rhythms for an individual part. You can use the step buttons to modify the rhythm pattern of each part. A rhythm pattern can also be recorded as you listen to the playback (realtime input). (Edit the rhythm pattern)

What is the synth section?

This is the section where the parameters that are assigned to the knobs and buttons work together to "synthesize" (produce) the sound of each part.

What is the effect section?

The effect section gives wide-ranging and powerful changes to the sound made using the synth section of each part.
